Notes from the presentation:

You’ve got a really strong starting point and have already demonstrated a good grasp of all the disciplines covering the making of a project such as this.  You’re now into the shaping of a coherent and engaging artist identity, this might require that you research and immerse yourselves further into popular culture as a discourse.  Some things to think about:

  • How does the name embrace the concept – is there something about conforming to identity models – and what human is?  Are you looking at Post- Humanism agendas?  Robert Peperall – Post Human Condition – good starting point for artist driven projects (although a relatively old text now)
  • Be aware there is a nostalgia movement  at present in electronic music –  which seems to be conferring a humanising of the relationship that we presume to have with technology – nostalgia / retro / craft of technology
  • Another interesting area is Accelerationism  https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/may/11/accelerationism-how-a-fringe-philosophy-predicted-the-future-we-live-in
  • Plenty of influence and within pop music (PC MUSIC – QT / Hannah Diamond / Charlie XX ) prophetic perspective (Kyary Pamyu Pamyu).

Search for ‘technostalgia’ – it may help you get a sense of the significance of some of this feedback for your work (popular and academic articles address this).

Mailchimp, or an equivalent, could be a useful tool to help you to synchronise your marketing plan.
